A friend had owned and lived in the home since 1957, and had subsequently built this add-on sunroom. The flowerbed was added as a feature, and a range of flowers planted. When the glass panel settled in the fall of 2009 I was asked to give an opinion and to effect the repair. From the pictures you will see that the window sill and frame has rotted out - the effect of the flowerbed moisture up against the home. The sunroom floor is a slab-on-grade poured concrete, and did not suffer any observable deteriation. I'm not sure if this was the first rebuild, but it serves as a good example.

From time to time I'll provide other such examples where regular maintenance would avaid the need for this level of repair.
